Staff at the Victoria Hospital in Rothesay have shown their support this week for ‘To Absent Friends’, a special festival giving people across Scotland the opportunity to remember the people we love who have died.

‘To Absent Friends’ started in November 2014 and is a way of telling stories, celebrating and reminiscing about those we loved who’ve passed away, reviving lost traditions and creating new ones.

Staff at ‘the Vic’ have been doing just that, and raising money in the process for Bute Palliative Care, by buying a lantern for £1 which is hung on a tree in the hospital’s reception, dedicated to a lost loved one.

If you would like to join in ‘To Absent Friends’, contact Sharon Davies (senior staff nurse at the Victoria) or Eileen Hillis (Bute’s Macmillan nurse), with all donations going to Bute Palliative Care.
