The Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service team in Rothesay Library just got a bit bigger with the successful training of four more volunteers, bringing the total number of Bute-based volunteers to ten.
The volunteers provide emotional support and access to quality information at the weekly Tuesday drop-in sessions over a cup of tea, either in the main drop-in area or in a more private room. The volunteers are pictured with Chris Holden, the Volunteer Co-ordinator, and Macmillan Nurse, Morag Robertson.
Service Manager, Deirdre Henderson, told us: “If you, or someone you know, is looking for support or information our free service on a Tuesday in the library runs from 11am to 3.30pm with a break for lunch between 1pm and 2pm, or you can call the free Macmillan helpline on 0808 808 00 00 for specialist medical or financial support.
“No one should have to face cancer alone.”
