Marie Curie Cancer Care’s annual Great Daffodil Appeal arrived in Rothesay on Saturday.

Volunteers spent the day staffing a fund-raising stall at the town’s Co-operative supermarket in Bridge Street, handing out daffodil badges to generous Saturday shoppers.

The appeal is the first to be held on Bute since the formation of a Marie Curie fund-raising group on the island, taking some of the behind-the-scenes work away from the local Marie Curie Nurses and allowing them to concentrate on providing care at home for cancer patients.
