Bute woman’s special birthday request

While most people regard approaching their 50th birthday as something to dread, one local woman is looking forward to hers for one particular reason – she is hoping that instead of gifts or cards, friends and family will make a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Kaz Molloy, who was diagnosed with womb cancer three-and-a-half years ago says: “There have been times over recent years that I didn’t think I would make the next birthday, let alone my fiftieth.

“Macmillan has been a great support to me since my diagnosis, so instead of cards and gifts I am asking people to donate to them via my JustGiving page.

“Even just the cost of a card will help towards my target.”

Kaz has another reason to celebrate this year – she will be three-years cancer-free the week before her birthday (on July 17), so why not help her celebrate by making a donation.
