Bute resident Sandy Ogilvie is in training for next month’s Great Scottish Run - when he’ll be raising money for Epilepsy Scotland.

That means he’s already well and truly beaten his target of raising £500 for the charity - but he has no plans to put his feet up!

“I’ve had epilepsy all my life,” Sandy, who lives in Ardbeg, told The Buteman, “and I thought this would be an opportunity to support Epilepsy Scotland and improve my fitness levels at the same time.

“Epilepsy Scotland helped my in my youth when I had my diagnosis, and when I decided to put my name forward for the Great Scottish Run they seemed the obvious choice.”

Sandy will take part in the 10K race at the event, which starts at George Square in the centre of the city and finishes on Glasgow Green.

You can support his efforts online (click on the link in the first paragraph of this story), or by filling in the sponsor forms at the post offices in Ardbeg and Port Bannatyne.
