The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service is back on Bute on Tuesday, June 17, and with the need for donors on the up, why not see if you can give a pint?
Blood donations can be used for emergency transfusions, during surgical procedures, and even as part of the treatment of leukaemia.
The different parts which make up blood can be separated for use in the treatment of different conditions meaning one donation can potentially save the lives of three people, and just one teaspoon of blood can save the life of a baby while it’s still in the womb.
If you’ve never given before, or perhaps haven’t donated for some time, why not pop along to the Moat Centre in Stuart Street on Tuesday, June 17, from 2.30pm until 3.45pm, and from 5.15pm until 7.30pm, and make your donation.
There’s even a cuppa and a chocolate biscuit in it for you!
