‘Give it a go’ is this year’s motto for an afternoon of demonstrations and tasters that are on offer at the Moat Centre on Saturday, November 17 from 2-4pm, and all are invited to come along for the afternoon and try something new.
Adult Learning and Youth Services have teamed up with local community groups to showcase some of the opportunities that are available on Bute, whether it’s learning new skills, cultivating a hobby or joining one of the many groups that meet during the winter months.
There is a wide variety of things to see and try, such as calligraphy, textile arts, knitting, ChiBall DVD demonstrayions, jewellery making and examples of instant writing.
There’s information and a programme of activities during the winter months for you to take away.
Towards Zero Carbon Bute will be there to tell you more about their latest venture to promote cycling, and you may be among the lucky ones to receive vouchers for free bike hire, as well as details of their Dr Bike and Mr Saddle maintenance workshops.
For adults seeking a challenge, the Discovery Awards for over 50s might be up your street. Coffee and biscuits will also be available at the Green Tree Cafe, free of charge for those attending the event. (kids can even decorate their biscuits!)
