The owners of Bute’s community forest have been given until the end of March 2015 to submit a bid for almost £1 million in National Lottery cash to develop an activity centre and accommodation on their land.

The Bute Community Land Company was invited in February 2013 to submit a ‘stage 2’ bid to the Big Lottery Fund for accommodation and a community meeting and events facility.

BCLC director Emma Cooper told the organisation’s AGM: “It’s been complicated keeping track of the bid without paid staff. We’ve kept the Big Lottery Fund updated - they know we’re behind schedule, and they have said they expect us to have the bid in by the end of March.”
