It’s not uncommon for people who retire to think about getting a pet. After all, without the dreaded nine-to-five or the commitments that jobs are often accompanied by, there are more hours in the day to give to an animal.
In Billy McCarry’s case, that was very true – he didn’t expect, however, that the dog he’d offer a home to would be a retired television star!
Following a chat with a Border Collie breeder based in Fort William, Billy discovered Junnu – a ten-year-old collie born in Finland and brought to Scotland at four years old.
Highly intelligent, full of energy and character, Junnu appeared as the main dog in the BBC children’s programme ‘Jess the Border Collie’, and her talents were certainly in evidence when we met him on Thursday afternoon!
