For Bute has been offered a lease to run the tearoom at Ardencraig Gardens in Rothesay.

The team behind a Rothesay thrift shop set up to raise money for Bute good causes has been awarded a lease to run the tearoom at the town’s popular Ardencraig Gardens.

For Bute’s application was accepted this week by Argyll and Bute Council – and they are now hoping to have the facility up and running by the Easter holiday weekend.

“We’re going to call it The Potting Shed Tea and Coffee Emporium,” Marlene Hill from For Bute told The Buteman.

“It’ll be staffed by volunteers – we’ve already got four ladies saying they want to work there – and we hope that it will bring more people up to the gardens and benefit the town.”
