For Bute donates to more island good causes

Local thrift shop For Bute presented a total of £2,760 to five more local good causes this week.

Cheques were presented to the following organisations at the shop in Rothesay’s Victoria Street on Saturday:

* £500 to the Rothesay Academy XL Group towards the cost of a ‘team building’ day trip;

* £500 to Network Bute towards the cost of computer equipment;

* £500 to the Bute Bowling Association towards the cost of its annual open bowling tournament;

* £500 to Tee in the Port towards the cost of hiring a marquee for the annual music festival at Port Bannatyne Golf Club;

* £760 to the Isle of Bute Sailing Club towards the cost of instructor training for the club’s younger members.
