Rothesay thrift shop For Bute handed out another £2,500 to good causes on the island on Saturday.

The five latest beneficiaries were as follows:

£500 to the Rothesay Pavilion Charity to help with the cost of research trips to other arts venues such as An Lanntair in Stornoway and Comar on Mull;

£250 to the Chapelhill rockery restoration project for seeds and tools;

£250 to the Phoenix Centre towards the cost of T-shirts for the centre’s dance group;

£500 to Rothesay Swimming Club to help with the cost of equipment;

£1,000 to Bute Golf Club to help with improvements to their clubhouse to enable them to host the Firth of Clyde Trophy tournament in June, the first time the Kingarth club will have hosted the event.
