There are no last-minute surprises in the list of candidates standing in Argyll and Bute in next month’s UK general election.

The nomination deadline passed at 4pm on Thursday without any additional candidates besides the five already declared - Mary Galbraith for Labour, Brendan O’Hara for the SNP, Alastair Redman for the Conservatives, Alan Reid for the Liberal Democrats and Caroline Santos for UKIP.

All five have been invited to attend a hustings organised by The Buteman and taking place at Rothesay Pavilion on Sunday, April 19 at 2pm.
