ROTHESAY dentist Euan Thomson has raised £3,573 for Macmillan Cancer Support and Prostate Action as a result of running the London Marathon last month.

Euan, who is attempting both the London and Edinburgh marathons as part of his fund-raising bid, completed the London leg in three hours and 54 minutes.

That’s a little slower than the three hours and seven minutes he managed last time he ran the London race in 1990, but he was still pleased with his efforts, telling The Buteman: “I was happy that I can still walk!”

The final total raised - with more than a fortnight still to go ahead of the Edinburgh marathon on May 27 - will be split equally between the two charities.
