Neighbours of Rothesay’s former West Church have agreed to help clean up a patch of waste ground next to the derelict building.

A group of residents met in front of the Argyle Street building this week to discuss how to look after the ground next to the derelict church.

The meeting was organised by local resident Jessica Herriot, who is leading attempts to turn Rothesay’s annual Beautiful Scotland clean-up operation into a year-round community effort.

Jessica said: “This was a very positive first step, and hopefully the start of other residents looking at their own local area, and seeing how we can improve our own environment.”
