The owners of the Stronafian community forest to the north of Bute are among almost two hundred community groups sharing in the latest payout from the National Lottery’s Awards for All programme.

The Colintraive and Glendaruel Development Trust is to use an award of £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund to improve access to the forest and to develop recreational areas on the land.

The Trust bought six hundred hectares at Stronafian from the Forestry Commission for £1.55 million in 2013 under the National Forest Land Scheme.

The latest list of Awards for All recipients in Scotland features 191 community groups and organisations - four of them in Argyll and Bute - and a total Scotland-wide payout of £1 million.
