Bute councillor, Len Scoullar, has offered his congratulations to those responsible for the island’s recent success in the Beautiful Scotland competition.

For the third year in a row, Bute received the silver gilt award - the second highest level of award - in the Scotland-wide scheme.

Cllr Scoullar, in a letter to the editor, states: “Thanks go out to the volunteers from our community, the traders, the Council employees and last but not least everyone else who in any way helped, for all their skills and efforts in the super presentation of our town.

“A very huge and sincere thank you to you all.”
