WHAT kind of transport would you normally associate with wedding parties? A horse-drawn carriage, perhaps, or maybe a luxury limousine. But not, surely, a humble Ford Fusion.
That, though, is how Lois Hadley and Richard Bolton, along with their family and friends, were transported to and from their wedding ceremony on Bute last weekend – courtesy of local community car club CarBute.
Lois and Richard both stay in Hertfordshire, but decided to come to Bute for their special day.
Needing access to cars while on the island, they opted to become members of CarBute, allowing them to use two of the club’s three vehicles during their stay, both to transport the wedding party and to allow them to explore the rest of the island.
Karen Hilton from CarBute’s parent organisation, Towards Zero Carbon Bute, said: “They all seemed to have a great time, and the cars, they said, were indispensable.”
