Kilchattan Bay resident Ellen Cromack is making final preparations for her sponsored walk this week in memory of her granddaughter Emma.

Ellen, who is also a member of Bute Community Council, will walk from Kilchattan Bay to Rothesay and back this Friday, February 26, to raise money for the Scottish Cot Death Trust.

The day of the walk marks the sixth anniversary of little Emma’s sudden death at just five months old.

Ellen is planning to don her hi-vis vest and set out at 7am, walking to Rothesay via the B881 (the West Road) and returning via the A844 shore route, pausing in between to light a candle in Emma’s memory at St Andrew’s Church.

Sponsor forms can be completed at several Bute businesses including Toffo’s newsagent, Maison Gina, Print Point, W. & J. Duncan, Rothesay Motor Services, Mac’s Bar, Apple Tree Nursery, Bute Tools, Bute Blacksmiths and the Victoria Hospital maternity unit in Rothesay, and also at Kingarth Hotel; alternatively you can donate online via Ellen’s JustGiving web page.
