Pupils at Rothesay Primary took part in a fun ‘Banana Olympics’ event this week in support of Fairtrade Fortnight.

The event was organised by pupils in S3 at Rothesay Academy who are part of the XL Project in the school, and were looking for an unusual way to take part in the Fairtrade Foundation’s annual awareness-raising campaign.

Rothesay Primary School was the venue for an unusual 'Banana Olympics' session to mark Fairtrade Fortnight.

The session - widely praised by the school staff who brought their pupils along - featured an obstacle course, ten-pin bowling, a relay race with giant inflatable bananas as batons, a banana-and-spoon race and much more, and followed a banana-themed coffee morning for Rothesay Joint Campus staff last week.
