The search for Argyll and Bute’s brightest education stars is underway as nominations are open for the Scottish Education Awards 2017.

People are being urged to nominate the local schools and teaching professionals that go the extra mile for recognition at the national awards ceremony which honours the hard work and innovation happening in classrooms across Scotland.

Councillor Rory Colville, Argyll and Bute Council’s Policy Lead for Education and Lifelong Learning said: “Argyll and Bute schools and education staff have an excellent track record in the Scottish Education Awards in previous years and I don’t expect this year to be any different.

“Our teachers are enthusiastic and committed to delivering the best quality learning experience for all pupils and are constantly striving for excellence and to improve standards.

“These awards are an opportunity for us to recognise and pay tribute to the hard work, dedication and achievements of those who dedicate their lives to teaching. “
