Donations worth more than £900 were presented to two cancer charities by pupils at Rothesay Joint Campus on Friday.

Pupils and staff raised £302.68 for Macmillan Cancer Support and £619.58 for Cancer Research UK at a series of events just before the end of the autumn term including bake sales, wearing pink, teachers dressing up as pupils and pupils undertaking a series of novelty challenges such as how many marshmallows they could fit in their mouth.

The cheques were presented at Rothesay Primary’s assembly on Friday afternoon to Beverley Scoullar, treasurer of the Bute fund-raising branch of Macmillan Cancer Support, and Anna Harrison, manager of Cancer Research UK’s Rothesay charity shop.
