The top official in Argyll and Bute’s education service has paid tribute to Rothesay Joint Campus head teacher Patricia McCurrach after she announced she would be leaving in March after barely six months in the job.

Parents were informed of Mrs McCurrach’s departure in a letter home to pupils earlier this week.

Cleland Sneddon, Argyll and Bute Council’s executive director of community services, said: “Unfortunately, personal reasons mean that we will be losing Patricia at the very beginning of her new career opportunity here in Argyll and Bute, and I thank her for the kind words she has said about Rothesay Joint Campus staff and pupils and wish her the very best for the future.”

Mrs McCurrach, who took up the post in October, spoke warmly of the pupils and staff at Rothesay Joint Campus in an interview published in the February 6 issue of The Buteman.
