Pupils from Rothesay Academy have helped set a brand new world record, by participating in an online practical food lesson with celebrity chef, Jamie Oliver.
On Friday, May 16, thirty S3 hospitality pupils tuned into Jamie’s website, joining thousands of schools around the world, as he demonstrated how to make a tasty ‘Rainbow Salad Wrap’.
Following the demonstration, the pupils worked in groups to prepare themselves a tortilla wrap filled with carrot, pear, beetroot, cabbage and cheese, tossed together with a yoghurt-based dressing. After certificates for participation had been presented, all that remained was for the pupils to enjoy their home-made wraps!
As Malcolm Briggs, teacher of Home Economics and Hospitality at the school, said: “Not bad - go to school, break a world record, and eat!”
