Police on Bute have searched several houses under warrant this week in the ongoing fight against drug supply on the island.

Inspector Gordon Anderson, the island’s senior police officer, told The Buteman that controlled drugs had been recovered at the properties searched by officers based at Rothesay, with assistance from colleagues based off the island, and that the offenders would be reported to the procurator fiscal.

Inspector Anderson added: “We will continue on a daily basis to address drugs on Bute using all available resources. If anyone has information which would assist our operations please contact us at Police Scotland or alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

“Crimestoppers will not ask for any personal details and takes information anonymously. This service can also be used to report any crimes including anyone who is driving illegally, e.g. without insurance, driving licence, driving while disqualified etc.”
