Drivers on Bute have been warned to adhere to the 20mph signs in a Rothesay residential street after road safety fears were expressed by some householders.

Several complaints have been received from concerned residents in Roslin Crescent about the speed of vehicles using the road, and the fears they have for children playing in the area.

The appeal to vehicle drivers comes after a group of residents attended Bute Community Council’s September meeting to seek support for some form of traffic calming measures.

Sergeant Dave Wilkinson from Rothesay police office said: “In keeping with Police Scotland’s ‘keeping people safe’ ethos, patrols will be monitoring the area in an effort to detect and deter speeding and other motoring offences.”
