A reader has been in touch to appeal for information about a friend he made during his summer holidays on Bute as a child in the 1950s.
Alex O’Brien, who resides in Bearsden, told us: “Like hundreds of Glasgow families we went to Rothesay at the fair and in the mid 50s
stayed in a house owned by Mrs Plank at Prospect Terrace, Ballochgoy.
“I recently came across a photo taken in the garden there of a wee boy who used to come and play. His name might have been Tom and he stayed in the street down from Prospect Terrace.
“His mum might have been Ruby, and Mrs Plank’s name was Julie I think. She had a brother called Barney.
“We had great times there and I wonder if anyone recognises him? It would be nice to know.”
Do you know the boy in the photo? Please get in touch with us at email@example.com if you have any information we can pass on to Alex.
