Plans for a major fish farm and processing facility at Ardyne, north of Rothesay Bay, are due to be considered by councillors on Wednesday.

Ardyne Estates Limited wants to remove the existing buildings, plant and equipment at the former oil platform fabrication yard and to build a new fish processing facility over a site of 6,800 square metres, along with a new fish farm operational centre, storage facility, car parking, a distribution yard and landscaping.

The planning application will be considered by Argyll and Bute Council’s planning, protective services and licensing committee on Wednesday; the authority’s planning officers have recommended that permission be granted.
