Police on Bute have advised the public of a "worrying rise" in incidents of cars being vandalised in Rothesay.

Police in Rothesay have warned the public of a “worrying rise” in incidents of cars being vandalised in the town.

Sergeant Dave Wilkinson told members of Bute Community Council this week that six separate incidents of cars’ paintwork being scratched with keys had been reported in the space of a few days - one in Battery Place, where a silver Mercedes parked in a driveway was targeted, two in Ardbeg Road and three to vehicles parked at the Victoria Hospital.

Anyone with information about any of the attacks can dial Police Scotland’s non-emergency contact number - 101 - and ask to be put through to Rothesay police office.
