Keeping children safe online is the same as keeping them safe in any other walk of life, according to the man who led a workshop for parents of Bute school pupils recently.
Gerry Geoghegan from Argyll and Bute Council’s education service spoke to The Buteman after the event at Rothesay Joint Campus, organised jointly with Police Scotland, which included discussions with parents on how to keep their children safe from the risks posed by online bullying, grooming, gaming and social media interaction.
“What it essentially entails is Police Scotland and the education service touring tound schools in the authority speaking to groups of parents about issues of protection for their children online,” Mr Geoghegan said.
“It’s been very well received and its something we intend to continue to do.”
