Argyll and Bute Council has taken over responsibility for enforcing parking regulations in Rothesay and throughout the local authority area.

The council’s new regime of ‘decriminalised parking enforcement’ came into force on Monday, taking responsibility away from Police Scotland.

First-time transgressors will be given a warning notice under the new regime until May 25, but from May 26 all vehicles caught parking illegally will be issued with a penalty charge notice.
