Looking for a New Year resolution which can have a real impact on someone’s life? Then why not consider donating a pint of blood?

The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service will pay its first visit of the new year to Rothesay on Tuesday, January 21, when donations can be given at the Moat community centre in Stuart Street between 2.30pm and 3.45pm and between 5.15pm and 7.30pm.

At present only one in 20 people in Scotland gives blood, and with more than a thousand donors required every day to keep up with demand from the country’s hospitals, the search for more people willing to donate continues throughout the year.
