Elderly man set for court on threats charge

Police in Rothesay are appealing for information from the public about a wilful fire-raising at a property in the town's Russell Street.

 

An 82-year-old man is the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal in connection with four counts of threatening or abusive behaviour in the Ardbeg Road area of Rothesay.

The offences are alleged to have been committed between May 16 and August 14 this year. The man is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on an undertaking next week.

Meanwhile, police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted wilful fire-raising after a blaze within a property in Russell Street, near its junction with High Street, at 7.15am on Sunday, August 31.

Anyone with information can call Police Scotland on 101 and ask for Constable Robin Bond at Rothesay police office.
