Jessmay Morton won all the main trophies at Port Bannatyne SWRI.

Jessmay Morton, a past president of Port Bannatyne SWRI, put her free time to good use by scooping all the main awards at the organisation’s annual prize presentation this week.

Jessmay won the Margaret Luke Cup, for Handcrafts, the Mary Murray Shield for Housewives and the Chrissie McMillan Cup for the Combined, with Muriel McKay filling the runner-up spot in all three.

President Nicki Edgar welcomed a good turnout of members to the last meeting of the season, at which the entertainment was in the form of poems from Jessmay, Etta and Nicki, while Beck Reid won the ‘Pennies for Friendship’ competition with her novelty money box.

For many, the highlight of the evening was the sumptuous buffet supper prepared by the committee.

The president for the forthcoming season will be Aileen Fitzgerald, with Els Kamst as vice-president.
