Community fair in Rothesay for Armed Forces Day

Bute joined communities across the UK in paying tribute to the country’s armed forces at a community fair in Rothesay on Sunday.

Held the day after Armed Forces Day to avoid a clash with the Tee in the Port music festival in Port Bannatyne, Sunday’s event saw the local Legion Scotland branch join forces with the Light Up Bute community group for a family-friendly afternoon of fun in Guildford Square.

Among those present on Sunday was local Legion Scotland branch chair David Boe, fresh from a 160-foot bungee jump the previous weekend to raise money for the organisation’s work with veterans and their families.
