The proceeds from Bute Vintage Club’s 2014 charity road run were presented to two local good causes at the organisation’s AGM on Friday.

The Isle of Bute Parkinson’s Support Group received a cheque for £560 and Marie Curie Cancer Care a cheque for £1,120 from club president Ian Reid before the meeting at the Kingarth Hotel.

The Parkinson’s Support Group was represented by Annie McDougall, Marnie Marshall and Andy Horn, while Phyllis McKirdy and Linda Poole accepted the Marie Curie cheque on behalf of the organisation.

The money was raised through entry fees and donations from participants and members of the public at the hugely popular road run, which saw almost a hundred vintage tractors driven around the island on Saturday, July 14.
