Bute and Cowals Vets Emma Bicker (Alexander) and Catriona MacIntyre were presented with the award for 'Practice of the Year' at a ceremony in Birmingham Town Hall on Thursday, April 9.

Two vets who accepted the ‘Practice of the Year’ award on behalf of Bute and Cowal Vets have told The Buteman of their surprise and appreciation at winning the national accolade.

Catriona MacIntyre and Emma Bicker (Alexander) travelled to Birmingham on Thursday, April 9, to attend the Petplan Veterinary Awards 2015, in which Bute and Cowal Vets was nominated for ‘Practice of the Year’.

Catriona, who is based at the Dunoon branch, told us: “I don’t think it had entered my mind that we would actually win!

“We don’t get told who or how many nominated us, or what they said in their nomination stories, but awards judge Professor Stuart Reid, RCVS President, said that what had been said in our nominations had really taken the judges’ breath away.”

Emma, who works from the Rothesay branch, added: “Wow! This award only comes from nominations from our clients, and to think that they have taken the time to sit down and write something wonderful about us makes us feel so appreciated.”
