Beth Swan is hoping to perform at Hamilton Park's Got Talent on Saturday July 13 - but she needs your votes, or rather Facebook 'likes', to get there!

Young Bute singer Beth Swan is within touching distance of the top ten spot she needs to perform at Hamilton Park racecourse next month.

As this article was written Beth, a pupil at Rothesay Primary School, had received 314 ‘likes’ for her video of Queen’s ‘No One But You’ on Hamilton Park’s Facebook page.

Videos by 24 acts have been published on the page, and the ten acts with the most votes will be invited to sing at the Hamilton Park’s Got Talent race night meeting on Saturday, July 13.

At the time of writing Beth’s video had 314 ‘likes’, putting her just five behind the tenth-placed act, Jennifer McLaren.

The top ten so far is as follows: Rebecca Traynor 679 ‘likes’; Katelin Tierney 670; Ashleigh Burns 575; Gemma Stevenson 477; Nicole Brown 368; Kelsey Barr 347; Rebekah Kirk 340; Jessica Munro 323; Jennifer McLaren 319.

Voting closes at 10am next Friday, July 5, so don’t hang about if you want to help Beth make it to the final - to add your support, just go to Hamilton Park’s Facebook page, scroll down until you reach Beth’s video and click on Like.

Beth’s vocal talents have impressed many people on Bute over recent months at numerous charity fund-raisers and community events on the island.

She also performed in the title role in Rothesay Primary’s 2012 Christmas show, Cinderella Jones, and sang Adele’s Skyfall at the school’s P7 talent show earlier this month.
