On Sunday, November 9, Bute residents will gather at the island’s war memorials to remember those who fought and died in conflicts since the Great War.

A short service will be held at Port Bannatyne’s war memorial at 10am, followed at 11am by the service and parade at Rothesay’s cenotaph in Victoria Street.

At 1pm a service will be held at Kingarth war memorial, and at 3pm respects will be paid at Croc An Raer to the merchant sailors who are buried in North Bute cemetary after their wrecked ships were brought to Kames Bay for salvage during the Second World War.
