Bute will mark Remembrance Sunday with four services across the island.

Four services on Bute will mark Remembrance Sunday tomorrow, to honour those who died fighting for their country during, and since, the Great War.

The first commemoration will be held at Port Bannatyne’s war memorial at 10am, followed by a service at Rothesay’s Cenotaph at 11am.

At 1pm, a service will be held at Kingarth’s war memorial, and the final commemoration will be at Cnoc-an-Raer in North Bute Cemetery, in memory of the merchant sailors who are buried there after their wrecked ships were brought to Kames Bay for salvage during the Second World War.
