Local internet station Radio Bute held a sold-out fund-raising evening in Rothesay on Saturday.

The event, held at the newly-refurbished Rothesay Bowling Club, featured some of the best of Bute’s musical talent - including singer-songwriter Rosie O’Byrne, Open Mic UK regional finalist Aimee Scarlett - better known in these parts as Aimee Gilmour - and 11-year-old Rothesay Primary pupil Beth Swan.

The evening’s programme was started and finished by Gerry Geoghegan, Debbie Dawson and Elaine McCombe, together known as Rise, and whose mixture of self-penned material and covers with a distinctive twist went down a treat.
