Bute Oasis has launched an appeal to island residents to think of those who have very little this Christmas.
They state: “As we are all aware Christmas is almost on our doorsteps. Doing what we do we more than most are aware that there are people who are not going to have a Christmas. This is through circumstance and through no fault of their own.
“We have been working hard and we have managed to get the money together to provide Christmas hampers. These contain turkey, fresh produce to prepare a pot of soup, the dinner itself and all the trimmings.
“We are appealing to our community to please donate any small gifts for children. This could be a selection box, a toy or a book. Our age range is 2-14. Please help us further by wrapping the gift and writing on a tag if it is for a boy or a girl and the suitable age range.
“Our hampers are going out on December 23, so that is the deadline.
“There is also a stocking hanging on the chest for any cash donations that will be used to buy presents for the kids if you cannot make it to the shops.”
