Bute motorists told to belt up

A number of motoring offences were detected by local police over the past week in Rothesay’s town centre.

Two drivers were issued with fixed penalty tickets for failing to wear seatbelts while driving in Victoria Street on May 23 - one a 77-year-old man at 8.30am, the other a 64-year-old man at 9.05am.

Meanwhile a 52-year-old man was reported for leaving the engine of his car running whilst unattended in East Princes Street at 8.35am on May 22, and a 44-year-old man was reported for driving while using a mobile phone at 3.45pm on May 24 in Montague Street.
