The amount of money raised for Bute’s dialysis campaign at Sunday’s community fun run in Rothesay has passed the £2,000 mark.

Shirley McFarlane from the Dialysis Unit for Bute Campaign told us that as of Tuesday afternoon the sum raised had reached £2,018 - with more sponsorship money still to come in.

“It was a really great day,” Shirley told us, “and so nice to see all members of the community, especially the children, having a great time.”

A total of 119 people took part in Sunday’s event, which was organised by the Rothesay community sport hub.

Any money raised from the fun run which hasn’t yet been given to the dialysis campaign should be handed in to the Skills Development Scotland office in Rothesay’s Victoria Street by Friday, March 25 at the latest.
