The 2014 Take Time careers, education and community fair will take place at Rothesay Joint Campus on Thursday, October 2.

More than 40 organisations from across the education, skills and community sectors will be taking part in the annual ‘Take Time’ community event at Rothesay Joint Campus next month.

Organised by Skills Development Scotland (SDS), with support from Rothesay Academy and the local Opportunities for All group, the event offers information for all the community.

There will be presentations from representatives from Further and Higher education, Construction Skills, civil engineering and the armed forces as well as safety demonstrations by Fire Scotland.

The event will have three zones – employment, learning and training; lifestyles and hobbies; and health and well-being.

Pupils from Rothesay Academy and Lochgilphead High will be attending and it is hoped that many people from the island community will come along to find out more about developing their skills, taking up new education opportunities and perhaps even changing their career path.

Some of the pupils will be involved in providing catering for the event as part of their SVQ award, as will others who are helping with reception duties and event preparation.

The event runs from 11am to 3pm, and further information is available from shirley.mcfarlane@sds.co.uk.
