The scourge of Rothesay dog owners who fail to clean up after their pets has been raised - again - by two community organisations this week.

Apple Tree Nursery and Bute Rugby Club have written separately to The Buteman to express their anger at dog owners who leave their pets’ mess behind.

Apple Tree’s concern relates to the grassed areas around the nursery in Mackinlay Street, while the rugby club’s focus is on their home ground at King George V playing fields, where a friendly match was played on Sunday and where a member of the club’s committee had to clear dog mess from the pitch two hours before the game.
