Four members of the Bute Community Land Company have volunteered to join the organisation’s board of directors - doubling its size at a stroke.

Ian Carmichael, Rosemary Mulholland and Tony Carter all responded to an appeal at BCLC’s annual meeting this week for more people willing to be directors.

The fourth new appointee, Jim Mitchell, was unable to attend the meeting but indicated in advance that he would like to join.

All four new appointments were approved by BCLC members present at the company’s AGM, held at Bute Museum in Rothesay on February 17.

They join existing directors Emma Cooper, Aidan Canavan and Peter Vincent and board chairman Ian Jardine.

“It was a very positive meeting,” Ms Cooper said afterwards.

“Everyone wants things to happen - until now it’s just been a question of having the people power to do it.”
