A Bute competitor had success at a charity sheepdog trial in Strathlachlan at the weekend.

Lisa Gast from the island came in second place with Fae in the Nursery Dogs category of the event, which was held on land owned by Peter Kennedy.

The organisers collected items from local businesses to include in their raffle, raising a total of £1,029.43 which will be donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Organiser Catherine Macdiarmid told us: “This trial was very nearly not happening this year and was only able to carry on with the generosity of Peter Kennedy and his family for allowing us to use his sheep and the field, also for helping us to set-up.

“I would like to thank everyone for their help and support it has been greatly appreciated Also a big thanks to Angus Macdiarmid and Nicklaus Docherty who help me to organise this event.”
