A Bute mother-and-daughter team who raised more than £3,000 in a charity cycle ride from London to Paris have been looking back on the experience with The Buteman.
Marion and Sarah Murdoch covered 313 miles in the space of four days to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland.
They were part of a group of 21 cyclists backing a variety of deserving causes on the ride, which was organised by the Global Adventure company.
“It was wonderful,” Marion said. “It really was an amazing experience.
“It was tough going, though - every day had its own challenge - but it was an enjoyable sort of tough. When you encounter the hills you just have to remember why you’re there and why you’re doing it.”
