A sub-committee of Bute Community Council - formed to compile a community resilience plan for the island - are fast approaching the completion of the document, which will act as a guide in the event of a major emergency.

The document, which provides information on the roles and responsibilities of the emergency services and local organisations, also offers advice for householders on how to be prepared for a major emergency.

Rothesay Pavilion has also been equipped with an ‘emergency kit’ - the first town in Argyll and Bute to receive one - which includes torches, space-blankets and high-visibility vests, among other items.
